Challenge
Lifting the Malanjkhand mine to a certain acceptable standard by redesigning the pit and carrying out all excess oil burdens, in a severely challenging environment.
Solution
Due to the go prices of copper, the principal client, Hindustan Copper Ltd, didn’t have a development plan. As a result, the mine was almost abandoned for the want of development, and the benches were narrow and vertical.
We were the first company to deploy 85 tonne dump trucks and 35 tonne dump trucks on a steep gradient more than 150 m deep. Despite severe engineering challenges, we emerged with a great outcome.
Benefit
We were able to triple the volume of material mined for the client.
