Over the years CSR has become a very important part for all corporates & business houses. Thanks to the initiative by the government to include CSR as a must for all corporate and business houses, we see a lot of development as far as local areas are concerned. As a result of these locals whose lives were affected by industrialization have now started benefitting out of this. On the same note, a lot of companies make it to the top however to retain the top spot is something of a herculean task. After all, it takes a huge follow-up structure and proper planning to make sure that the development work is actually happening. Today, we talk about our beloved city Salem. A lot of companies based out of Salem have done a lot of good work for the society. Companies like JSW, Sona College, SAIL has been in the limelight for their CSR projects, however, today we are going to talk about M/s Thriveni Earthmovers Pvt Ltd. Thriveni is an MDO with its footfall globally. Thriveni Earthmovers which is based out of Orissa have been instrumental in providing jobs to around 1000+ women at a very remote village in Chhattisgarh apart from setting up of Primary school and medical dispensaries. In Salem, Thriveni has started the first ever Vodafone call center with visually challenged people. A uniquely made set up, its heart touching to see how these specially abled souls have got into a normal life with 8 hours shift like all normal people for a good pay. These specially-abled individuals are trained by specialists using brails and other unique methods and it’s a treat to look at them work. One has to see to believe it. Care for a visit? Among other mentionable deeds, Thriveni funds various institutions for special child’s. Through different activities carried on, on a regular basis Thriveni has managed to affect the lives of these special children in a positive way. Thriveni have recently constructed a separate dining and kitchen facility in Thaai Madi, Kalikavundanpalayam. Thriveni is also running old age home facilities in Orissa called Anandashram, where many old people are being taken care of with respect to very comfortable accommodation, daily medical needs with 24*365 days doctors on-call services and nursing facilities. The facilities have been running successfully. A truly noble cause worth appreciation. Mr. Balasubramanian, Chairman, Thriveni, is usually very shy when it comes to an interview and every time he has successfully managed to avoid media houses but from our known sources he always been able to connect with people from all spheres of human life given the cause that he started from the scratch hence he knows the value of human lives. Hopefully, another name to look out for with respect to CSR though they have been very successful in keeping a low profile till date. On that note, let’s hope that they carry on the noble work for the betterment of the society. All such measures are like a pleasant westerly wind in the scorching days of summer!!
