Introduction of Sleipner to the Indian Mining Industry
Challenge
Reducing the high cost of marching and consequent lower availability of excavators.
Marching of mining equipment constitutes nearly 7- 12% of excavation costs subject to face conditions. It reduces loading availability, increases the idling time of hauling equipment and waste of fuel on non-productive costs.
Solution
We were the first company to successfully introduce Sleipner in an Indian operation. Sleipner of various sizes were brought into the process, thus reducing the frequency of matching.
Benefit
This innovative usage of Sleipner had a positive effect of reducing operating costs, adding more available working hours and increasing the efficiency of mining operations. It led to a significant increase in travel speed and a more rapid method of continuous production.
